The partnership of Richardson & Ottewill was established in June 1993 both of us having spent a number of years in the trade following our training at Kent lnstitute of Art & Design Medway where we completed many design briefs and manufactured ambitious projects, leading to the achievement of several awards and some critical acclaim.
To date, we have won 27 national awards for our design and manufacturing skills.
We work from a sizeable studio in the Kent Countryside which provides a manufacturing workshop, design office and retail outlet. Here we are able to cover a wide range of manufacturing processes, from large batch production through to one-off pieces. Our experience encompasses fine gold and silversmithing, modelmaking and a wide variety of holloware and jewellery, we have undertaken many commissions for private clients both here and abroad, also work for cathedrals and local churches including restoration as well as newly designed pieces.
Since our inception we have been establishing a reputation in Europe for fine quality silversmithing and goldsmithing. Our aim is to design and manufacture functional, tactile yet innovative silverware, drawing our inspiration from all areas of design and using natural flowing forms which are enhanced by silvers reflective quality whilst retaining the highest standard in contemporary craftsmanship.
We regularly exhibit our own range of pieces in this country and abroad. Our plans for the future are centred around the further development of in-house gold and silverware designs.
